Vocational Training
Empowering Cameroon’s Youth: Skills for Jobs, Businesses, and Brighter Futures
Acquiring skills is crucial for securing employment and starting businesses, particularly in developing countries like Cameroon. However, much aspiring youth in Cameroon face challenges accessing the necessary training and education.
Our Approach
The vocational program aims to support ambitious young men and women from rural areas to pursue a brighter future. Participants receive training in diverse fields such as construction, carpentry, motor mechanics, electrical engineering, animal husbandry, glass cutting, and more.
Our strategy involves engaging with local business owners in the city to introduce our program and collaborate with them to provide training in the trainees’ chosen fields. Chariaid International covers enrollment costs, uniforms, and tools, enabling the trainees to focus solely on learning. A deputy project lead provides guidance and assesses their performance. This hands-on experience allows students to gain a comprehensive and practical understanding of their field of study and experience workplace culture.
Chariaid International collaborates with a network of schools for an accelerated training program that combines classroom and practical experience, spanning twelve months. Upon successful completion, the students are assisted in gaining further experience through apprenticeships with local businesses. As Chariaid International expands and establishes its training center, some students are employed as trainers, allowing them to contribute to global development.
